Mid-storm weather report

mid-storm You can see about 12 to 15 centimetres of snow piled up on the fence railings. The snow is still falling steadily as it has been for hours. No sign of a let up, so I haven’t gotten the snow blower out yet. Ploughs just cleared the front road, but they’ll have to return by evening. We expect to double the depth before we’re done.

  1. We brush that much snow off with a broom.
Loaders are now piling up the snow high as the houses.
Melt is here and the birds have returned.
..tried to comment on the books,
    but got an error..
    so I emailed

  2. Yes, Joni, we like to get excited about relatively small snowfalls here in Toronto. Partly because we are snow sissies, partly because we are drama queens and partly because urban congestion makes for more inconvenience that it does it less populated areas.

  3. An 8″ snowfall, every two weeks from Dec 1 to the ides of March would suit me fine. It would also be nice if the temperature stayed below, say 28F, so people could make and maintain skating rinks in their yards. Sort of like the way Toronto used to be.
