
For many months, a long plywood hoarding flanked the sidewalk in front of the site on Edgewood where the old school once stood. According to the signage, the fence was protecting the boulevard trees. Good, I thought.
Yesterday I walked by and saw that a major section of the hoarding was gone… and so were some trees. Free firewood, says a new sign.

Some of the sawn trunk sections look very hollow, so perhaps that tree was a safety hazard. Other logs looked pretty sound, though. They may have been standing in the way of condos to come.
awww.. I hope the TPZ has a seedling program.
…If not, May the birds with seeds poop on the condos.

Developers will probably be required to plant trees… and possibly more than they cut down… but it takes decades for the new plantings to grow to anything like the size of the trees that are felled.
