Lloyd called my Blackberry Playbook from his Blackberry Playbook today. Those are screenshots you see, taken from our Video Chat. He and Cheryl are chillin’ in
San Miguel de Allende… no, I guess chillin’ isn’t the word. Lloyd says it’s 30 down there, but I think he’s talking Celsius.
So how was the video chat?
Aside from fun… and still amazing that we can do this stuff for free… it was pretty good. The picture and sound froze quite a bit, but it turns out that Lloyd was working with a wifi speed of .39 Mbps. It’s kind of phenomenal that Blackberry could connect us at all. Even Tim Horton’s is twice as fast, and the public library does 4 Mbps.
Nevertheless, Lloyd was able to give me a visual tour of their place, the wrought iron spiral staircase, the balconies and the splendid views. Colourful, sunny, green and marvellous.
