Not only does this gorgeous photo by Jerry Lodriguss illustrate the fact that the red planet was closest to us yesterday … click image to go to site … it reminds me of one of those six degrees of separation things.

The blurb on John Robert Colombo’s first Kindle publication notes that John “served as a member of the team (led by Carl Sagan) which produced the “Visions of Mars” plaque that is attached to the Phoenix Mars Lander which set down on the surface of Red Planet on 25 May 2008.”
