
These are unsigned, undated abstract studies but they are so similar in shape and colour that they were probably done at the same time, most likely in the mid 1980s. They are abstract in the sense that no attention has been given to specific details that identify subject matter. As generalized compositions, though, they clearly draw on the B.C. forest for their inspiration.

Great framing! The watercolours look terrific. Were these in a sketchbook? I don’t remember them.
Thanks, Anna. These two watercolours were in the box, not in sketchbooks, but packed with them, so you would not likely have seen them.
It is most generous of Bill and Danica to share Helen’s work with us, such lovely landscapes, so fittingly framed. The two watercolours are already adding charm to our household, but where they are to be fitted in is yet to be determined.
