As customers know, The Tulip never changes. It is the same time-stands-still diner that we love for its refusal to go all trendy and uppity.
Imagine how my jaw dropped when I saw this!

Don’t worry. The booths have just moved up closer to the window and now line the west wall. The bakery in the basement continues to make the best chocolate cake in the city, fresh daily.

Zooming through Bluffer's Park
Out on the bicycle this morning with my newish camera, trying out the 20x zoom. Shots are hand-held by a novice, so I am quite hopeful that I’ll learn to get some good photos with the Sony DSC WX350.

Mine is the same camera model that Rebecca Staton uses for her High Park bird shots, so thanks, Rebecca for sharing your experience and setting an example of what’s possible.
Let's stop talking about Rob Ford
Danica and I attended a church hall presentation tonight, attended by 3 mayoralty candidates and a few hundred citizens. The speeches repeated positions already available online and were fairly dry. We still like David Soknacki best.

A post about being a fan
It’s important to be a fan of something. Somethings is even better. Fans appreciate and thus get more out of life. Fans inspire, pressing doers to do better and better. Here’s a photo that arrived in my email today. John Robert Colombo (far left) and his son Jonathan (far right), trekking through Fan Expo.

I’m a fan of many things. Here’s an example.
And to bring this post full circle, back to Mr Colombo, I am a fan of Barker Fairley, who did portraits of both John and Ruth Colombo. I have seen them on the walls of the Colombo home.

I shall soon see more of Fairley’s work, thanks to the Ingram Gallery.
