“Hire me… I’m dishonest!”

[UPDATE: Fast work by Councillor McMahon’s office. DUMP signs gone in one day.]

I hope 310-DUMP and others like him get what they deserve… no business, big fines and enforced removal of their illegal signs. Mr DUMP has had the nerve to stick up 7 of his eyesores in one short block on Duvernet, west of Woodbine.

You’re right about “dishonest”. Not only do these guys sneak their unlawful signs up high where we can’t easily tear them down, the garbage removal guys dump their hauls into ravines and along beaches. If they are too cheap to pay for legitimate advertising, it’s no surprise that they are also too cheap to pay disposal fees at legitimate dump sites.

Anyone who thinks they are saving money by doing business with these shady sign posters should think about the fines they’ll pay when their junk is identified. Inspectors love to comb through the stuff for clues… and guess who is often caught… not the dumper, but his customer.

Right on, Frank. Illegal dumpers COLLECT disposal fees, pocket them and then dump somewhere free. Customers believe that they have paid for legal dumping but have not. They still get hit with hefty fines because they hired a crook to do their disposal.

What bothers me is the No Ball or Hockey playing sign. Ridiculous. And we wonder why kids are fat.

Don’t worry about that one, Brian. The kids ignore it entirely… in fact, I think it was put up to entice the kids to exercise. Seems to work!

Handy of them to leave a number where they can be contacted for fines, eh?
