I don’t understand, MS experts.
We’ve all heard about the MS treatment that unblocks veins in MS suffers. Some of those treated have reported marvellous improvements and many have gone abroad for the procedure.
So why are the “MS experts” opposed to federal funding of a proper study to determine the efficacy of the so-called “liberation treatment”? Well, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research experts agreed that there is an overwhelming lack of scientific evidence on the safety and efficacy of the procedure.
Ummm, wouldn’t a study go a long way toward overcoming that “overwhelming lack of scientific evidence”?

Donna’s Excellent Adventure
I insisted that we order the souvenir DVD and it just arrived yesterday, about 2 weeks after Donna and her friends Sue and Diane went whitewater rafting. It was a girls’ weekend getaway to Sue’ s cottage. I remained at home, enjoying my hobbies: non-swimming and keeping my head out of helmets.
Not adventurous myself, I am very proud of Donna’s courage. She’s actually smiling through a lot of it. [Photo centre, below]
Here’s another still from the DVD, showing all 3 river rats, just before the splash above.
When I beat the flu bug that is plaguing me right now, I will edit down some of the footage and put it up on YouTube. It’s really quite a show. Lots of thrills… and spills!

Google’s Chrome is coming on strong

Measurements of traffic to my little backwater here are hardly significant, but they are the only ones that really interest me. So I am surprised (and pleased) to see that another fairly advanced browser is making inroads on Internet Explorer territory.
I have nothing against Internet Explorer, except that all of the other browsers render web pages better and faster. It’s very odd that Microsoft is always so slow to offer a decent browser, after fighting tooth and nail to beat the once-dominant Netscape into oblivion. Take the high ground and then defend it weakly? Why?
Oh well, there are plenty of newcomers busily carving pieces off of Microsoft’s ground and that’s a good thing. It surprises me to see that the latest newcomer is becoming so popular, so fast. Chrome shows up on my radar almost as strong as Firefox. It took Firefox years to get to where it is. Chrome… a few months.

It’s been nearly a year since Neptune was discovered.

One Neptune year has passed since an earthling discovered the 8th planet in our solar system, back in 1846. Where does the time go?

Hello, HTML 5… Bye bye, Flash.

If you are using any major browser other than Internet Explorer, you can experience a bit of the future and have some fun.
Try out some of the demos showing off the new <canvas> tag that is part of the next version of HTML.
Until now, a Flash plugin was needed to do this kind of stuff and iPod and iPad users were left out. Not for long. As usual, Steve Jobs is ahead of the curve.
