About
Why the name ripple.ca?
Before I retired, my business was called Ripple Effect Creative Services. I made ads. Friends have me bookmarked as ripple.ca, so why change it?
The current style
The blog’s current theme is a slightly modified version of Chris Pearson’s Neoclassical theme. If you liked the previous one better, please comment and let me know.
I like this one for it’s typography, white space and BIG, wide header image. Or should I say images plural, because they change randomly.
A minor glitch: The content column in the Neoclassical theme is not wide enough to hold some of the images I have used in the past. Since I am probably the only person who ever reads the Archives here, I deem it to be a matter of no consequence.
The author
That’s me, typically trying to figure something out. In this case, a camera with little tiny letters on the dial. Where are my glasses?
I use a Mac exclusively, as do most of the people I know. Odd, but true. When I want to check to see if something on my web site will work for Windows PCs, I only have three friends to call for a test.
Most new technologies on the internet interest me, but there’s just too damn much going on! Impossible to follow more than a little bit of it.
Recent (and on-going) obsessions involve web interactivity, web video and web audio. Flash looks like a good bet, so that’s what I’m exploring, mostly. The programming language (ActionScript) is based on, and very similar to, Javascript. Learning one gets me the other. An added bonus is that it is an object-oriented language now. If that means nothing to you, congratulations. You’re normal.
