I have moved my HTML 5 video test

You’ll find it here now, if you’d like to help me test. I am especially interested to hear from Windows PC users with IE browsers.

If you can view it, the video tells what the test is about. If you can’t get it to play, please come back here and drop me a comment to let me know. It would help if you could say what kind of machine you are on and what browser you tried with.

Thanks,
Bill

The video works great on my machine and I bet you already know what I’m using…..because i certainly don’t! Good delivery.

It’s so nice to see you. My copy is very clear.
I suspect it’s in Flash. I’m off to check though.
Thanks for posting this.

In source I see the ‘if .. then’ options for operations.

Is the XAML listed in applications a part of HTML5?

I don’t know a thing about XAML, Joni. That code is generated either by a plugin or by WordPress. HTML 5 is just the next version of HTML, We use HTML 4 right now and it is 10 years old. HTML 5 will bring new possibilities, including non-Flash video delivery,

Perhaps the most visible HTML5 aspect is built-in support for audio and video, but there are other HTML abilities under way: storing data on a computer for use by an application,

WebGL for accelerated 3D graphics on the Web, enabling better typography through CSS

HTML5 codecs might be an issue for awhile.

Photoshop supports Flash, iphone not. Let’s see what Gimp supports.

thanks for this!

You are quite up on this stuff, Joni.

Bill,

I use IE8 for my browser; Flash Player 10 is likewise installed in this computer, but I don’t see the screen here.

This video just popped up on my iPod as I was finishing up reading your last comment. I didn’t click anything. Anyway, the video works well on my iPod and you look great…..as usual!

Not sure why it launched itself, Paul, unless you happened to trigger a link without realizing… but it’s great to know that it plays on your iPod. That’s the whole idea. Flash video doesn’t work on iPods so I needed to develop an alternative.

Looks good in Firefox & IE8 on my PC laptop. IE8 served up the Flash video and Firefox served the HTML5. I am encouraged by the adaptability of this plugin as my client wants to be able to serve her music on her site but – most importantly – she wants it to work on the iPhone, which means no Flash. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback, Linda. Most encouraging.
