700th blog post
Wow. I started this blog back in 2004, 700 posts ago, when I wasn’t even 60 yet. Now I’m about to become an official senior citizen, complete with a cheque from the government just for breathing. reduced fares on streetcars and other perks, too.
In some ways, I’ve been an old fart since I was a teenager, so this feels pretty natural. I’m catching up with myself.
Demographers call the coming bulge in the seniors population “a pig in a python”. Charming picture, eh? I am at the front end of that bulge… have been all my life, of course. Whatever I’m doing, thousands of other boomers will soon be doing, too. It’s going to get crowded on the north side of 65.
At the moment, (and that’s where I like to spend most of my time) things are pretty good and I’m enjoying them. Hope this lasts for a good long time before I’m python poop.

OK, Anna, Here’s the scratch card report: I retrieved 20% of the money you spent… enough to take a cash ride, one way, on a street car, at the senior rate. This will require some careful travel planning.
